How long have you been trading?

I offer a wide range of beauty treatments, from lash lifts, massage, and various nail treatments. I specialise in waxing and skincare. I pride myself on my professional yet personal touch, providing a wealth of knowledge and experience from working within various aspects of the industry.

What do you enjoy about being your own boss?

The achievement. I adore what I do, pampering and giving my clients their ‘me’ time, whether that’s 10 or 110 minutes, knowing my clients are leaving feeling better than they did when they arrived is an amazing feeling.

Taking a hold of my work, life balance and having more flexibility. Being able to decide where the adventure goes next and setting and achieving my goals.

You have a great salon/studio at the MENTA hub on Hollands Road, tell us about the kit and what you have for clients.

I offer specialist advanced skincare treatments, micro needling, also known as collagen induction therapy, LED light therapy and chemical peels being firm favourites with my clients. These treatments use advanced scientifically driven techniques to aid a multitude of skincare concerns.

Intimate waxing is also a speciality of mine.

I thrive on knowledge, adding to my training on a regular basis to keep up with the ever-changing advancement of technology and techniques.

Is it nice being part of a small business community at MENTA?

Self-employment can be a very lonely place, especially when working alone. To have and be part of a like-minded community, is really refreshing.

How has business been post lockdowns?

Being solely mobile prior to Covid, I opened my studio after the first lockdown was lifted and my industry could reopen. Maintaining the cleanliness of my work environment and providing a safe space was important to me, especially when my business is so close contact. Moving to my studio, was the best thing I’ve done within my business to date, this safe space, has given myself and my clients some normality and at present, my business is thriving. I am forever grateful.

What are your top three tips for great-looking skin?

Wear SPF come rain or shine, sun damage is the main cause of premature ageing. Prevention is better than cure.

Double cleanse religiously. After a day of make-up, SPF, sweat, pollution a first cleanse (with an oil-based cleanser) will break down and remove everything sitting on your skin. A second cleanse will then deeply cleanse your skin and pores. No face wipes though, please!

Have regular facials. Self-care has never been more important, perfecting your routine at home is one thing, but there is nothing better than indulging in a professional exfoliation & extraction.

When are you open?

Wednesday to Saturday. By appointment only.
