New Taco Bell restaurant in Haverhill moves closer after planning permission approval

The opening of a Taco Bell restaurant in Haverhill has moved closer after planning permission was approved for illuminated signage to be placed on the building.

West Suffolk Council’s planning department this week approved the application by Live Mas UK Ltd, of Woking, Surrey to install an illuminated fascia, LED arch and bell box fascia at the empty unit next to Cineworld in Ehringshausen Way - most recently occupied by Anatolia Mediterranean Grill & Cocktail Bar.

The planning officer’s report, issued on Tuesday, says: “Other illuminated signage is immediately visible from the application site and as such, the provision of illuminated signage would not result in an adverse impact to the character or appearance of the surrounding area.

“The site is established in commercial use, with a longstanding history of illuminated signage, and the effect on the nearby conservation area will therefore be neutral.”

Taco Bell specialises in Mexican inspired dishes, such as burritos, tacos, nachos and quesadilla and the vast majority of its restaurants are operated on a franchise basis.

The Haverhill restaurant would be Taco Bell’s sixth in Suffolk and there are almost 140 in the UK.
