Haverhill Colourbox Montessori nursery delighted with ‘outstanding’ rating from Ofsted

The owner of a Haverhill nursery believes the ‘outstanding’ rating awarded by Ofsted was only made possible because of the dedication and hard work of everyone involved.

Colourbox Montessori, in Three Counties Way, has been rated outstanding for both Ofsted inspections it has had since opening in 2015.

Colourbox’s group of west Suffolk nurseries, namely in Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Barrow and Red Lodge, has now achieved ten outstanding grades in a row.

Speaking of the most recent rating, awarded after a January 15 inspection, Susie Norman, founder and owner of Colourbox Montessori schools of West Suffolk said: “The Ofsted grade of outstanding is a testament to the commitment and dedication of our entire Haverhill staff and management team.

“Every single person, from the nursery manager, Natasha Reedman, to the Montessori teachers, practitioners, cook, handyman and cleaners, work together like a big family.

“They make our nursery school an amazing place for young children to learn, discover and have fun.”

In her report, Ofsted inspector Jacqui Mason, said: “Children thrive in this exceptionally welcoming and inclusive nursery.

“They are extremely motivated learners, who are exceedingly happy and settled. Children show excellent levels of confidence.”

She continued: “The management team demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in all areas.

“They rigorously monitor all aspects of practice and have high expectations for the quality of care and learning for all children.

“The management team are highly effective in driving improvement.”

Of the nursery staff’s relationships with parents, the inspector said: “Parents comment that they are ‘delighted’ with the nursery, describing the staff as ‘caring and knowledgeable’.

“Parents report that the staff nurture their children exceptionally well and give them the confidence and skills they need to be ready for school.”

The nursery provides full day care for up to 77 children, aged from babies to four-year-olds.
