Haverhill Nostalgia - Schoolgirl braves hair chop to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Association

In today's nostalgia we go back to 2012 when a Haverhill schoolgirl bade farewell to her long hair all in aid of charity.

Anastasia Dawkins, 12, braved the big chop in front of classmates and her sisters to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The Castle Manor Business and Enterprise College student had her hair cut (as pictured by the then Echo photographer Helen Whitcombe) by Paula Roskilly during an assembly at Place Farm Primary School to raise cash for the charity.

She made the effort following her grandfather Robert Ringrose’s struggle with the condition and raised well over £200, while also donating the hair to the Little Princess Trust.
