Haverhill Nostalgia - Girl Guides raise money for Action Duchenne and highlight town's wheelchair accessibility issues
Published: 05:00, 22 June 2022
In today's nostalgia we look back to 2012 when two Girl Guides raised money for charity and highlighted areas of Haverhill that may pose problems for wheelchair users at the same time.
Natalie Moss and Shannon Tobin, both 14, set off in wheelchairs from Sainsbury’s around the town for seven hours Friday and then a further six hours the following day.
The Castle Manor students were doing the fund-raising as part of their Community Challenge Badge with the Haverhill Ranger Guides and raised £175.
They did the feat to raise cash for muscular dystrophy charity Action Duchenne.
