Place Farm Primary Academy, in Haverhill, closes after power and water supplies are lost




A primary school in Haverhill has had to close today after its water and electricity supplies were cut off.

With children and staff due to return to Place Farm Primary Academy, in Camps Road, today after the Christmas break, instead pupils had to be sent home and taught online.

A spokesperson for Unity Schools Partnership, of which Place Farm Primary Academy is a member school, said: "We unfortunately had to close Place Farm today after local building works resulted in a loss of water and electricity to the school.

"Pupil safety is always paramount and so we have moved to online learning for today.

"We would like to thank parents for their understanding."
