Organisers of the Haverhill Show left 'enormously satisfied' to see so many people enjoying themselves

At one stage it looked like it would not go ahead due to Covid, but this year's Haverhill Show proved to be big hit with the community.

The support of local businesses and sponsors, a grant from Haverhill Town Council, and 'tireless' work by the show's committee all helped to make Sunday's show the best event possible in the shortened time available to organise it, said chairman Joe Mason.

He added: "The day itself had a pretty terrible weather forecast, though as it turned out, only a few showers tried to dampen the spirits, which it resolutely failed to do.

"It was wonderful to see the people of Haverhill out again together at a large event. It was enormously satisfying to see people enjoying themselves, having fun and taking in all that the show had to offer.

"Haverhill has a wonderful community which understands the need to support local charities and good causes of which the show donates the proceeds of all the money raised on the day.

"We will be announcing the amount of money raised next week and we will be inviting local charities and good causes to apply to become Haverhill Show 2021 beneficiaries."
