Teenager accused of fatal stabbing of Haverhill teenager Harley Barfield remanded to appear at Ipswich Crown Court in March
A teenager charged with murder after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in Haverhill has been remanded to appear at crown court in March.
The teenager, who is also 16 and from the Haverhill area, cannot be named due to legal reasons.
He appeared at Ipswich Crown Court accused of the murder of Harley Barfield.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to Strasbourg Square at 3.05pm on Monday.
Harley was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, in a critical condition before being transferred to the city's Royal Papworth Hospital, where he later died.
At Ipswich Crown Court today, Judge Martyn Levett set a date of March 10 for a plea hearing, with defence statements to be heard on March 30.
A trial date has been set for June 19, and is expected to last between two to three weeks.
Tributes have been paid today to Harley from the Haverhill community.
