Haverhill market traders give their support to new loyalty scheme

Market traders across Haverhill have pledged their support to a new free loyalty scheme aimed at showcasing special offers and enticing shoppers to the town centre.

The LoyalFree app has been launched by Heart of Haverhill to offer High Street businesses a digital platform to promote their offers.

While takeaway and professional services have already signed up, it has also been extended to Haverhill market traders who operate in the town on Friday and Saturday.

Paul Firman, who has operated his fruit and vegetable stall on Haverhill’s market for 32 years, is one of those to have offered their support for the loyalty scheme.

He said: “It’s quite an easy app to use and its handy. They do everything for you. It’s the easiest thing to do.

“Any help for local businesses will be great, given the situation that we are in right now.

“You can log on to it twice a week and they do the special offers on it."

John Mayhew, spokesman for Heart of Haverhill, said: “We are delighted with the level of interest we have seen from LoyalFree since we launched last week.

“In these challenging times, Heart of Haverhill wanted to offer something that would promote our businesses – at no cost to anyone who signs up.

“You could be offering anything from a free milkshake to a free month of accounts, a tray of sausages to a free flashdrive.”

The mobile app was funded by Haverhill Town Council as part of a £10,000 bid to support the town centre and promote it as a safe place to shop.

Mr Mayhew added: “We are all working together to promote the ‘Shop Local’ message.

“Haverhill businesses need the support of each and every one of us and we urge them to sign up to LoyalFree to promote their special offers.

“We also ask the local community to sign up to the free app and start benefitting from these great deals.

“It really is a win-win for everyone.”

A leaflet will be delivered in the next few days to 13,000 local households and cards for residents, shoppers, customers and clients will be available.

Heart of Haverhill was set up by ONE Haverhill Partnership to promote businesses in the town centre and provide a platform to share news, events and views that affect and interest the local economy.
