A12 reopens between East Bergholt and Stratford St Mary several hours after serious crash

The A12 in Suffolk has reopened after a serious crash which saw the road closed for several hours.

The road had been shut between junction 30 at Stratford St Mary and junction 31 at East Bergholt following the collision, which happened at about 7.50pm yesterday.

Emergency crews and Highways teams were sent to the scene of the accident, where diversion routes were in place while they dealt with the crash.

At 5.30am this morning, a Highways England spokesman said on Twitter that collision investigations were ongoing.

But at 6.45am, they said the incident had been 'resolved' and the road was fully reopened.

Suffolk Police has been approached for comment - it is not yet known if anyone was injured in the crash.
