Another flood alert in place for Suffolk and Essex, including Clacton, Felixstowe and Ipswich, including Orwell and Stour estuaries
Another flood alert has been issued for parts of Suffolk.
The Environment Agency has warned that flooding may be possible along a stretch of the Suffolk and Essex coast, from Clacton to Felixstowe, including Ipswich, between 11.45pm today and 1.45am tomorrow.
This means that low-lying footpaths and areas along the estuaries of the Rivers Orwell and Stour may become waterlogged.
This follows two other flood alerts that were in place yesterday.
A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: “Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides.
“The flood gates at Felixstowe seafront will be closed. The waterfront at Pin Mill, and The Strand at Wherstead under the Orwell Bridge may be flooded. Water may be on the quay at Mistley.
“Be ready to take action to protect your property if flooding is expected.”
