Ipswich Borough Council apologises after technical glitch causes confusion over bin collection days
A council has issued an apology following confusion over bin collection days in a Suffolk town.
According to Ipswich Borough Council, a technical glitch caused the confusion about the collection days for residents over the weekend.
The council has now removed its bin day checker from its website while the glitch is resolved and residents have been reassured that bins will continue to be collected on the usual day.
James Fairclough, the council’s director of operations, has apologised to residents.
He said: “I know that the technical glitch has caused concern for many and I apologise for any confusion it has caused.
“Our bin crews will be collecting bins as usual this week and for the foreseeable future.
“The only time of the year we expect bin days to change is because of Christmas and we’ll make sure there is plenty of notice of those changes for residents.”
