Suffolk Police make immigration arrests after 13 people found inside HGV at Ransomes Industrial Estate
Emergency services remain at a major retail park after 13 people were found in the back of a lorry.
Suffolk Police said they were called to the Ransomes Industrial Estate in Ipswich at around 10.40am where they found the people within an HGV lorry.
Police said they suspect the people found had entered the UK illegally and so far three arrests have been made.
All have been arrested on suspicion of Immigration Act Offences and have been taken to Martlesham Police Investgation Centre for questioning.
One of those arrested is the male driver of the HGV.
A police spokeswoman added: “Officers remain at the scene at this time and are liaising with Home Office Immigration Enforcement.”
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said two ambulances, four hazardous area response team vehicles and two ambulance officer vehicles were sent to Ransomes Industrial Estate following reports of a number of people in a lorry experiencing breathing problems.
He added: “Crews assessed 13 people at the scene, but no hospital transport was required.”
