Cosy Club shuts Ipswich eatery at the Buttermarket Shopping Centre

An Ipswich restaurant and bar has been deemed unviable as it shuts its doors after nearly nine years.

Cosy Club, in the Buttermarket Shopping Centre, first opened its doors in August 2016, but has now shut for good.

Lucy Knowles, managing director of Cosy Club said: “We're very disappointed that, after nine years trading, we have taken the very difficult decision to close Cosy Club Ipswich.

“This is only the second Cosy Club we've ever closed but, unfortunately, it wasn't financially viable for us to continue trading there.

“We would like to thank all of our team for their spirit, professionalism, and hard work and all our fabulous customers for their support over the years.”

Cosy Club is owned by Loungers UK, which will launch Marinero Lounge, its new venue inside the old Burtons warehouse in St Peter’s Wharf, on July 2.

Ms Knowles revealed that a majority of the team would be transferred to the new eatery.
