Suffolk Police name body of man found in the River Gipping in Ipswich as Julian De Bono
A man found dead in the River Gipping in Ipswich on Saturday has been named as Julian De Bono.
Pending formal Coroner’s inquest proceedings, the body has been provisionally identified as that of the 63-year-old from Ipswich.
Julian had last been seen in the early hours of Sunday, December 10 in the town.
After extensive searches took place last week, specialist underwater teams discovered the body of a man.
A Home Office post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday.
While the Home Office pathologist awaits the results of the toxicology before formally confirming cause of death, early indications are consistent with drowning.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious and there are no indications of any third-party involvement.
