Boy, 13, threatened with knife in attempted robbery in Ipswich

Witnesses are being sought after a teenage boy was threatened with a knife in an attempted robbery in Ipswich on Sunday.

Police are appealing for information after the incident, on Colchester Road, near to the Royal George pub at about 12.45pm.

They said a 13-year-old boy was cycling towards Sidegate Lane when another teenage boy, who was also on a bicycle, stopped him and asked if he had a phone or money.

When the victim said no, the suspect produced a small knife, but the boy was able to cycle away.

He was not injured and nothing was stolen.

The suspect is described as about 16 years of age, of small build, who was wearing black clothing, a black face covering and white trainers.

He was riding a bicycle that was believed to have been red in colour.
