Teenager charged with knife possession and making threats to kill after Ormiston Endeavour Academy, in Ipswich, went into lockdown




A 14-year-old boy has been charged with knife possession and making threats to kill after an incident at an Ipswich school last week.

On Friday, SuffolkNews reported that Ormiston Endeavour Academy, in Defoe Road, went into a full lockdown after a boy with a knife was spotted in its back field.

Suffolk Police were alerted to the scene at 7.57am, with the boy being arrested at 9.30am.

A knife was recovered at the scene.

A spokesperson for Ormiston Endeavour Academy said the accused did not enter any school buildings and the lockdown was lifted after his arrest.

No one was injured.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police has confirmed the boy was charged with possession of a bladed article on school premises and making threats to kill.

He appeared at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and has been bailed ahead of another appearance at the same court on May 29.
