Boy, 17, arrested after man in his 20s stabbed in thigh on Ipswich's Sirdar Road

A teenage boy has been arrested after a man was stabbed in Ipswich last week.

It comes after police were called to Sirdar Road at about 12.35pm on Friday following reports a man had been assaulted.

The victim, aged in his 20s, sustained a puncture wound to his thigh during the assault.

His injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing, but he was taken to hospital for treatment and was later discharged.

A 17 year old boy was arrested late on Saturday evening on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), common assault and possession of a Class B drug, cannabis.

He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was subsequently released on police bail yesterday afternoon.

He is due to return to police on Saturday, April 17.

Police conducted additional patrols in Ipswich over the weekend in a bid to offer reassurance to the community.
