Boy, 17, arrested after Ipswich sexual assault in alleyway between St Stephen's Church Lane and Upper Brook Street
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault in a Suffolk town.
The incident took place between 10pm on Wednesday February 15 and 1am on Thursday February 16 in an alleyway between St Stephens Church Lane and Upper Brook Street in Ipswich.
A police cordon was put in place in the town centre street while investigations took place.
Police have today revealed a 17-year-old boy was arrested on Friday evening and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
He was subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries to answer on 5 May 2023.
Officers are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or who was in the location last night and saw or heard anything suspicious.
