Latest Suffolk coronavirus figures show 1,904 new cases in the county last week as cases rise in four districts




The latest coronavirus data in Suffolk shows the county-wide rate of new weekly cases has increased since the week previous, while the East of England and England as a whole experienced a downward trend.

In the week leading up to September 15, case numbers were 280.9 per 100,000 people. This figure is up on the previous week's figure of 262.5.

There were 1,940 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of lab confirmed cases to 49,278.

Four of Suffolk's five districts experienced a rise in case rate, with Babergh reporting 206 cases, Mid Suffolk reporting 222 and Ipswich amounting to 325.

East Suffolk had the biggest number of positive results, amassing 771 weekly cases.

West Suffolk is the only district that saw a downward trend in their case rate, with 461 cases reported in the week leading up to September 15.

As of September 3, which is the latest data from ONS, there have been 1,603 deaths in Suffolk where Covid-19 was recorded on the death certificate.
