Kesgrave Bell Lane assault where a passenger allegedly punched another driver in the face prompts Suffolk Police appeal




An incident which saw a driver punched in the face by a passenger in another car, which likely was being driven by a learner driver, is being investigated.

The alleged assault took place in Kesgrave, near Ipswich, at around 8pm on Monday.

Police have said a man in his 20s was driving his car behind a silver Vauxhall Astra on the A1214 Main Road at the time.

They said the cars approached traffic lights in Bell Lane when a man, the passenger of the Vauxhall Astra, got out of the car, approached the victim and punched him in the face.

This suspect is described as white, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall, bald and of stocky build. Police said he was wearing a dark tracksuit.

The driver of the Vauxhall Astra is believed to have been a learner driver, as the car was displaying a ā€˜Lā€™ plate at the top right to the back of the car.
