Delays on A14 eastbound after a collision between Copdock and Wherstead near Ipswich
There are delays on a key rush hour route in Ipswich this morning following a collision involving a lorry and a car.
The collision took place on the A14 eastbound between Copdock (junction 55) and Wherstead (junction 56).
As a result of the incident traffic has been reported on the A14 and on the A12 around the Copdock interchange.
Reports on social media suggest that drivers on the westbound side of the A14 are slowing down as they pass the scene.
The AA traffic map says that drivers on the A14 eastbound are currently experiencing 20 minute delays to their journey and queues go back as far as Sproughton.
A spokeswoman from Suffolk Police said: "Police were called just before 8.10am to reports of a collision on the eastbound A14 at Copdock, the road was blocked but reopened by 8.55am."
The collision involved a lorry and there were no reports of any injuries.
