Ed Sheeran extends Ipswich Town Football Club sponsorship – but won’t be at Portman Road today

Suffolk superstar Ed Sheeran has agreed to extend his sponsorship of Ipswich Town Football Club into a fourth season – but will not attend the club’s decisive game today.

The Framlingham-born singer has been a sponsor of the Blues’ men and women since the 2021/22 season.

Despite this, the 33-year-old has confirmed he will not be attending the Huddersfield fixture today, which could secure ITFC’s place in the Premier League.

Mr Sheeran is currently on tour in the US.

When speaking to Sky Sports F1 in Miami last night, he said: “I’ve signed on to sponsor them next season and if they get into the Prem it’s not going to pay for itself.

“It is a shame to miss the game but I’ve just bumped into a load of Ipswich fans here and we’re all going to meet up and watch it here.”
