Eight fire crews battle combine harvester blaze in Akenham near Ipswich

Eight fire crews were called to a combine harvester blaze in a Suffolk village.

Crews were called shortly before 4.30pm to a combine harvester fire that had then spread to the land around it along Henley Road in Akenham, near Ipswich.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, said that crews were dampening down the area and stopped attending the incident at 6.05pm.

Fire appliances from Ipswich, Woodbridge, Leiston, Needham Market and Stowmarket, were all called to the scene.
