An established Suffolk business has submitted plans for a new store following the demolition of the current building.

The plans were submitted to Ipswich Borough Council by Lumberjacks Limited, who currently operate their store in 801 Bramford Road.

The plans are to build a bigger store building following the demolition of the existing workshop as well as an extended bell mouth entrance to the site.

A design and access statement submitted on behalf of the local fencing, landscaping and garden supplies company, which has operated on the site since 2001, states the expansion was needed to facilitate sustainable growth.

The statement reads: “The proposal is a wholly deliverable prospect, increasing the effective use of land providing an economic uplift to the area, without undue harms.

“The benefits presented would not be outweighed, by any measure, by any identifiable adverse impacts.”

It also goes on to stress the economic and social benefits of the plans through boosting local trade and supporing local services, and job creation.

The application is now under consideration by the council’s planning team with a decision target date set for October 29.
