Greater Anglia running extra train services for East Anglian derby clash between Ipswich Town and Norwich City




Greater Anglia will be running extra train services for the derby clash between Ipswich Town and Norwich City this weekend.

There will be additional trains for fans travelling to Portman Road on Sunday for the league fixture which kicks off at midday.

Before the match, these additional services will run:

-07.20am Norwich to Ipswich, calling at Diss and arriving in Ipswich at 07.58am

-08.15am Norwich to Ipswich, calling at Diss and arriving in Ipswich at 08.57am

-09.08am Norwich to Ipswich, calling at Diss and arriving in Ipswich at 09.46am

-10.30am Norwich to Ipswich, calling at Diss and arriving in Ipswich at 11.08am

After the match, these additional services will run:

-2.25pm Ipswich to Norwich, calling at Diss and arriving in Norwich at 3.07pm

-3.10pm Ipswich to Norwich, calling at Diss and arriving in Norwich at 3.52pm

The normal scheduled hourly Sunday service between Norwich and Ipswich will operate as well as the additional services.

Passengers are advised to use the full length of trains and platforms and to buy tickets online or via the Greater Anglia app before they travel to save time and beat the queues.

James Steward, area customer service manager for Greater Anglia, said: “We know this match is very important to thousands of our customers, which is why we are running additional trains.

“We always want to support large local events where possible and make it easy for people to travel to by train.

“Trains will run with the maximum number of carriages. Our new trains are longer and have more seats.

“However, we would ask everyone to be patient while boarding as we are expecting very high passenger numbers on these services.”
