Families set to be reunited over Christmas as four household coronavirus bubble rule due to be announced
Christmas 2020 has been thrown a lifeline, with families set to be allowed to mix over the festive period.
It is believed that up to four households will be able to meet indoors, including in pubs and restaurants, for five days starting on Christmas Eve.
Families will be told to decide their social bubbles in advance, but are expected to have to continue to adhere to social distancing.
Boris Johnson, the prime minister, is due to announce his 'winter Covid plan' in the House of Commons tomorrow during which he is expected to announce the new rules.
He is also expected to announce the return of the three-tier system after lockdown in England ends on December 2.
Brits will also have to return to the tier system after the five-day relaxing of rules is over.
