Town hall and Cornhill abuzz as Ipswich Town FC Women celebrate title-winning season




A large crowd turned out to help Ipswich Town FC Women celebrate their record-breaking season.

The Cornhill was packed with hundreds of with people this morning in recognition of the team’s achievements.

Manager Joe Sheehan and his squad won the Women’s National League Southern Premier Division and next season will be playing in The Championship - the second tier of the women’s game - for the first time.

The celebration was organised with the help of the mayor of Ipswich, Cllr Elango Elavalakan, who welcomed the Tractor Girls to the town hall.

TownTV’s James Kirtland was there with ITFC chairman Mark Ashton, heehan and his team for a series of interviews.

Later on the squad and coaching staff were at the FanZone at Portman Road and at half time in this afternoon’s Premier League match between Ipswich town and Brentford, the Tractor Girls will complete a lap of honour.
