Ipswich Town Football Club-themed coffee debuts at Portman Road, supplied by Combat2Coffee

A new Ipswich Town-themed coffee has gone on sale at Portman Road – the proceeds of which will help veterans and prisoners with their mental health.

Cuppa Towen debuted during The Blues’ fixture against Stoke City last Saturday.

The brew is being sold by social enterprise Combat2Coffee, who developed it alongside senior members of the club.

This comes after founder Nigel Seaman hosted a tasting session in a bid to create the ‘perfect matchday roast’.

Nigel, a former soldier and prison officer, experienced post-traumatic stress disorder after leaving the army – and was driven to help others in his shoes.

He said: “All of us at Combat2Coffee are so excited to see Cuppa Towen available at Portman Road.

“It was great to hear how much the Blue Army loved it.

“Every cup sold helps veterans like me who have experienced mental ill health and aids us on our mission to reach all those in need of support.

“The club are huge supporters of ours and we are so thankful for their continued backing.”

Cuppa Towen is available in all corporate and executive areas, the Bobby Robson Suite, media room and the Playford Road training ground.

Combat2Coffee is currently the sole supplier of coffee for the club.

In addition to supplying, it also offers barista training for former veterans and families looking to re-enter civilian life.

Stuart Cox, Ipswich Town Football Club’s director of venue, said: “Helping develop this coffee with Combat2Coffee has been a fantastic opportunity for the club.

“To pick something unique for our staff, customers and stakeholders is something we have never done before.

“Cuppa Towen means we as a club are also helping to change the world, one sip at a time.”
