Four men charged after large amount of suspected cocaine and cannabis seized in Ipswich and surrounding area
Four men have been charged with drugs offences after a large amount of suspected cocaine and cannabis was seized in a series of police raids.
The raids were on Tuesday in Ipswich and the surrounding area, with a large amount of suspected cocaine found and seized, as well as a significant amount of cannabis.
The four men arrested and charged were:
- John Leighton, 35, of New Cut East, Ipswich, with conspiracy to produce a quantity of cannabis, being concerned in the supply of a controlled Class A drug and acquiring / using / possessing criminal property, namely cash and bank transfers.
- Robin Southgate, 55, Portland Way, Great Blakenham, with conspiracy to produce a quantity of cannabis and acquiring / using / possessing criminal property, namely cash and bank transfers.
- Dean Yule, 52, of Kemball Street, Ipswich, with conspiracy to produce a quantity of cannabis, being concerned in the supply of a controlled Class A drug and acquiring / using / possessing criminal property, namely cash and bank transfers.
- Michael Harty, 55, formerly of Romford, Essex, with conspiracy to produce a quantity of cannabis and acquiring / using / possessing criminal property, namely cash and bank transfers.
All four appeared at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Thursday and will next appear at Ipswich Crown Court on July 31.
Southgate, Harty and Yule were remanded in custody by the court, while Leighton was bailed with conditions.
