Regular theatregoers may recognise some of the cast, who have appeared on the New Wolsey stage before.

Including Lucy Elizabeth Thorburn (Kinky Boots), Luke Thornton (Goldilocks and the Three Bears), and Chioma Uma (Cinderella and the Rockin' Panto).

Telling the story of an affair between a married doctor and suburban housewife, Brief Encounter has been adapted for the stage from a 1945 film by award-winning theatre-maker Emma Rice.

However it started as a one-act play called Still Life, written by Noël Coward

Audiences will be able to watch the play at the New Wolsey between April 26 - May 13 and the Theatre Royal between May 23 - 27.
