Magnus Group Ltd, based in Great Blakenham, near Ipswich, that sponsored Ipswich Town’s main stand, files intention to appoint administrator




One of Suffolk’s largest haulage companies that sponsored the main stand at Ipswich Town has started the process of appointing an administrator.

The Magnus Group Ltd, based in Addison Way, Great Blakenham, near Ipswich, filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator on November 10 with the Business and Property Court of England and Wales.

The company has a fleet of nearly 90 heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) as well as over 100 trailers, and until yesterday (November 15) was also the sponsor of Ipswich Town’s main stand.

It was founded in 1973 by Paul Magnus, and following his death in 2018 the reigns were taken up by his son Olly.

Its vehicles are spread across three sites with the main hub at Addison Way, as well as two spots in Hadleigh on the Lady Lane Industrial Estate.

The business has also sponsored local boxer and English heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley, as well as Suffolk Cricket.

Magnus Group Ltd was approached for comment.
