Ipswich mum and daughter Emma and Faith Parker-Barber celebrate GCSE English results from Suffolk New College
A mum and daughter from Ipswich who studied at the same college are celebrating their GCSE success.
Emma Parker-Barber, 46, and Faith Parker-Barber, 17, both collected their English results from Suffolk New College today.
Emma snagged a grade 5 in English, while Faith secured a grade 4.
Emma described how over the moon she was to learn she’d passed.
She said: “I didn’t think I was going to get it so I’m really happy. I was ecstatic when I found out my grade.”
Her son has ADHD and autism, Emma said, and her results have placed her one step closer to her goals.
“My dream is to work in the SEN school where he studies and this has helped enable me to do that.
“I’ve had so much support from the college.”
She urged anyone considering going back into education to ‘do it’.
Regarding her grade, Faith said: “I was happy when I got the grade I wanted.
“The college is really good – they help and support you.”
