In pictures: Thousands flock to Ipswich for 2025 Brighten The Corners Festival
Thousands of people flocked to Ipswich over the weekend as a popular music festival returned for its fifth event.
More than 70 acts graced the five stages at Brighten The Corners on Friday and Saturday, running from the early afternoon until 11pm.
Below are all of our pictures from the event. Are you in our gallery?
One stage, at the Cornhill, was free for all to attend and predominantly featured local artists, accompanied by street food vendors and a bar set up by Adnams.
The other four venues were The Smokehouse, St Stephen’s Church, The Baths and the Corn Exchange.
South London band Dry Cleaning headlines Friday’s event, while grime-punk outfit Bob Vylan was the main act for the second day.
Glasgow jazz act corto.alto, Brighton band Lime Garden, post-punk act DEADLETTER, Welsh indie band Gruff Rhys and avant-pop duo Mermaid Chunky also took to the stage.
Other acts included OneDa, Waldo’s Gift, Master Peace, HotWax and Ellis D.
Joe Bailey, chief executive of Brighten The Corners, said about 2,500 wristbands were sold.
He said: "We were all really pleased how the weekend went, our team were blown away with how the town came to life and received so much positive feedback from customers, artists and music industry guests. The event really showed the potential of what we and the town can do."
Lee Walker, chief executive of Ipswich Central Business Improvement District (BID) said: “With perfect weather and packed crowds of all ages, the impact of Brighten The Corners on the town centre was drastic and brilliant.
“The organisers deserve every credit for its continued strength and impact.
“We are so proud to have partnered with them on the event this year.”
