Suffolk Chamber of Commerce has launched its C140 exhibition, celebrating 140 years of business evolution within the county
The exhibition is part of a two-year initiative commemorating more than a century of fostering business growth.
The ambitious endeavor aims to showcase the rich history and vibrant evolution of the Suffolk business community.
It focuses on four key themes: Diversity, Trade and Infrastructure, History and Heritage, and "The Future."
As part of the project, Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is holding its C140 Exhibition at The Hold in Ipswich.
Running for two weeks from April 18 to May 1, the exhibition is a ‘captivating journey through 140 years of business evolution within the county’.
The initiative is supported by funding from Suffolk Chamber of Commerce and the Heritage Lottery Fund
In addition to the in-person exhibition, the C140 Project offers a comprehensive online experience through a dedicated C140 website, social media updates, and features in Chamber communications.
This multi-platform approach ensures that the community can engage with Suffolk's business heritage both onsite and from the comfort of their homes.
The project itself through a blend of in-person and online activities, includes a dedicated website, social media updates, and features in Chamber communications, the project will engage the community and foster a deeper understanding of Suffolk's business heritage.
One of the highlights of the C140 Project is the Celebrating Diversity"initiative, shedding light on Suffolk's diverse economy and paying tribute to the Chamber's dynamic legacy in shaping the local business landscape.
Visitors can expect to delve into rich narratives, interactive displays, and engaging multimedia presentations that showcase the Chamber's pivotal role in Suffolk's economic development.
Yvonne Hargreaves, head of marketing, said: "Our primary objective with the C140 initiative is to delve into our rich history and heritage while uncovering the wider impact of our endeavours on the business landscape, individuals, and economy of Suffolk.
