Live: Suffolk elections results as they happen

Voters went to the polls yesterday as the first elections since before the coronavirus pandemic got underway.

Local elections took place across the county yesterday for Suffolk County Council, with all 75 seats being contested, and the county’s Police and Crime Commissioner.

Votes were also cast for those sitting on councils at district and town level.

Results have already started coming in for Suffolk County Council, with Conservatives maintaining a tight grip across the county so far.

Votes for police and crime commissioner will be counted from 9.30am tomorrow.

Babergh District Council has one seat – in Great Cornard – to be declared. That will happen from 2.30pm today.

East Suffolk Council has two seats in its by-elections – Framlingham and Beccles and Worlingham. Both of those are being counted and declared on Monday.

West Suffolk Council has six seats being declared: Abbeygate; Clare, Hundon & Kedington; Lakenheath; Moreton Hall; Southgate; and Whepstead and Wickhambrook. These will be declared on Monday.
