A14 at Orwell Bridge Ipswich closed both ways after serious crash involving lorry
The A14 is closed both ways in Ipswich this morning after a serious lorry crash.
The major route is blocked between junction 56 and junction 57 at the Orwell Bridge.
A National Highways spokesperson said this is due to a serious crash involving a lorry which crossed through the central reservation from westbound to eastbound.
A police spokesperson said the crash took place just after 11am, and added that significant delays are expected.
A diversion route has been put in place with drivers being asked to follow the solid triangle symbols.
Eastbound
- Exit the A14 at J55 Copdock Mill and follow the A1214 around Ipswich to Woodbridge Road Roundabout.
- At the roundabout take the second exit on to the A1189.
- Follow the A1189 to Felixstowe Road A1156 roundabout.
- At the roundabout go straight over and travel along the A1156 Felixstowe Road to re-join the A14 at J58.
Westbound
- Exit the A14 at J58 and take the A1156 Felixstowe Road.
- At the roundabout with the A1189 take the second exit.
- At the Woodbridge Road Roundabout take the first exit on to the A1214
- Remain on the A1214 around Ipswich to re-join the A14 at J55 Copdock Mill.
