A14 Orwell Bridge reduces speed limit to 40mph as strong winds forecast




The A14 Orwell Bridge in Ipswich will have temporary speed limits in place tomorrow morning as a precautionary measure.

Strong winds are forecast from 3am until 7am, with Highways East confirming drivers will be faced with 40mph limits during these hours.

The weather will be monitored throughout the morning, and a spokesperson for Highways East said they will let drivers know when the bridge can return to its usual 60mph limit.

Met Office predictions suggest Ipswich will be faced with winds from 32mph to 40mph between 3am and 7am tomorrow morning, set to reduce during the day and increase again in the evening.
