A14 Orwell Bridge Ipswich blocked due to police-led incident

Part of a major road in Ipswich was closed this afternoon due to a police-led incident.

The A14 was blocked at the Orwell bridge between junction 56 and junction 57.

The road was shut in both directions.

A National Highways East spokesperson said it was due to an incident led by Suffolk Police.

The road reopened just before 3pm and around 15 minutes of traffic remained in the area at this time.

The spokesperson said the incident was ‘safely resolved’.
