A man has admitted possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply in Ipswich after police made an arrest at a hotel in the town last month.

Mohammed Hussein, 21, of Wandsworth Road in London pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs at Ipswich Magistrates Court last week.

It comes after police were alerted to suspicious activity at a hotel in the Oak Lane area of the town on Monday, August 31, where staff members had reporting seeing someone leaving with cash and coming back consistently throughout the day.

Officers attended and a man was found at the rear of the hotel with a number of suspected wraps of crack and heroin in his hand.

He was arrested and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

A further search of the suspect revealed a further suspected wrap of drugs on his person.

Hussein was subsequently charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and was remanded ahead of his court hearing in Ipswich on Tuesday, September 1.

He was remanded in custody pending a further hearing at Ipswich Crown Court for sentencing on a date to be fixed.

Officers are urging anyone who suspects drug dealing is taking place, or who is concerned a young person or vulnerable adult may have been targeted by an organised group, to tell them by calling on 101 or via Crimestoppers anonymously online or by calling 0800 555 111.
