Man arrested on suspicion of drug offences in Ipswich after Ford transit tipper fails to stop at traffic lights on Warwick Road




A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing offences after police stopped a van that had driven through a red light this week.

Officers on patrol in Ipswich were travelling along Spring Road on Tuesday at about 10.25pm when a white Ford transit tipper failed to stop at the traffic lights at the crossroads with Warwick Road.

The driver was subsequently stopped and a drugs search was conducted under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre, where he was further arrested on suspicion of driving with excess drugs.

He has since been released under investigation pending the outcome of blood test results.
