Ipswich man charged after police officer assaulted outside German Doner Kebab in Westgate Street

An Ipswich man has been charged after a police officer was assaulted outside of a kebab shop.

Miguel Goncalves, 35 of Portman Road, was arrested on Tuesday after an incident outside German Doner Kebab in Westgate Street.

He has been charged with assaulting a police officer as well as criminal damage and a public order offence.

Goncalves has been bailed and will appear before Suffolk Magistrates' Court on June 27.
