Man charged with dangerous driving, burglary, affray and other offences after Lindbergh Road incident in Ipswich
Police have charged a man with dangerous driving, burglary and affray amongst other offences following an incident in a Suffolk town.
Lee Nicholls, 35, was arrested following reports of a vehicle driven in a suspicious manner on Wednesday, February 15 in Ipswich.
The vehicle, a Mini Cooper, was found unattended and seized with enquiries revealing it was linked to a burglary in Constable Road.
About 15 vehicles were sent to Lindbergh Road due to the nature of the incident.
Nicholls was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was remanded to appear before Ipswich Magistrates' Court this morning.
Nicholls, of no fixed address but from the Ipswich area, was charged with burglary of a property on Constable Road, dangerous driving, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and affray.
Superintendent Andy Martin, of Suffolk Police, said: “Police would like to thank the public for their support and understanding - their safety is always the priority in such situations.
"This was a swift response to an ongoing incident which led to both a safe conclusion and the arrest and charge of a man.”
