Ipswich man fined over £1,800 for dumping waste on private land in Anglesea Road
An Ipswich man has been ordered to pay more than £1,800 after illegally dumping rubbish bags on private land.
Mr Petrauskas, of Geneva Road, was prosecuted by Ipswich Borough Council for dumping around 25 bags of waste on private land in Anglesea Road last October.
He refused to attend an interview under caution, so he was prosecuted.
Mr Petrauskas pleaded guilty and appeared at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday where he was fined £1,820.
An Ipswich Borough Council spokesperson said: "This case demonstrates the commitment of our Environmental Protection team, who successfully prosecuted this individual for illegally dumping waste.
"Anyone thinking of dumping their waste illegally in Ipswich should think again, as we won’t tolerate this crime and will prosecute those doing so."
