Man's body discovered in River Orwell near Ipswich after police told of concerns for person seen on A14 Orwell Bridge
The body of a man has been found in the River Orwell near Ipswich.
Police were called at around 1am today by members of the public who were concerned about a person seen on the A14 at Orwell Bridge.
Officers attended but were unable to trace the person and a search involving police, paramedics, lifeboat crews, Suffolk Fire and Rescue and the Coastguard was launched.
A man's body was discovered in the water shortly after 4am.
The A14 was closed in both directions between junctions 56 and 57 but opened in the early hours of this morning.
