Burrell Road, Ipswich, off of Princes Street, ‘suspicious’ flat fire sees man hospitalised





A man was hospitalised after a flat fire yesterday with police treating the incident as suspicious.

Fire crews were called to the incident in Burrell Road, off of Princes Street, in Ipswich, at around 5.45pm.

The man suffered from the effects of breathing in smoke, as well as burns to his arms and hands.

The ambulance service treated the man at the scene, and he was later taken to Ipswich Hospital for further care, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or changing.

Three engines attended the scene.

A police spokesperson said the fire was out at around 6.45pm and they were treating the fire as suspicious.
