Man assaulted on dog walk near East Bergholt, Suffolk Constabulary say
A man in his 60s was assaulted by a fellow dog walker after an argument over a dog lead in a Suffolk village.
Suffolk Constabulary is appealing for witnesses after the altercation on Saturday morning in East Bergholt, in a field between Dedham and Flatford.
The force said the victim was out walking his dogs with his wife when approached by another 'husky type' dog, which was growling.
The man told the dog owner, another man, that the growling dog should be on a lead. The suspect then became 'verbally aggressive'.
He is said to have pushed the victim in the chest, knocking him over.
After this, the said perpetrator continued making aggressive comments.
The said offender is described as being in his late thirties. He was said to be wearing shorts, had neck length dark hair with a bushy beard and was about 5ft 11 tall. Police said he was with slightly younger woman, who had long, blonde hair. The pair also had two Daschund dogs.
