Three car crash on A137 between Tattingstone and Brantham leaves man in his 20s dead

A man in his 20s has died and two women have suffered serious injuries following a three car crash near Ipswich which saw a road closed for 12 hours.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision, involving a Kia Creed, a Saab 9-3 and a Volkswagen Golf, on the A137 between Tattingstone and Brantham at 10.47pm yesterday.

Police have confirmed this afternoon that the driver of the Kia, a man in his 20s, died at the scene, while a passenger, a woman in her 20s, was taken to Ipswich Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Saab, a teenage woman, was also taken to Ipswich Hospital with a serious head injury. The driver of the Volkswagen, a woman in her 30s, suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed after the crash, in both directions between the Brantham Bull pub junction and the Tattingstone crossroads, with the closure having remained in place until around 11.25am today.

Witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam footage of the incident, are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 458 of August 26.
