Essex man appears at Norwich Magistrates Court on attempted murder and kidnapping charges after woman found with stab wounds in Nacton




A man has been charged with attempted murder and kidnapping after a woman was found with stab wounds near Ipswich earlier this week.

Christopher Crichton, 32, of Park Street, Westcliff-on-Sea in Essex appeared before Norwich Magistrates Court this morning after being charged in connection with the incident.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Norwich Crown Court on May 14.

It comes after police were called to reports a woman had been seen in a state of distress in the Yarmouth Road area of Kirby Cane, near Bungay at about 8.40am on Monday.

The woman was then seen being driven away from the address.

Police later received reports a woman had been found in Nacton at 11.20am, and she was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.

She remains there in a stable condition.
