Miles of delays on A14 westbound around Ipswich after two separate crashes involving five vehicles

There are miles of delays on the A14 around a town after five vehicles were involved in two separate crashes.

Police were alerted to a three-vehicle collision on the westbound carriageway in the Sproughton area of Ipswich just before 5pm.

There was then another two-vehicle crash in the tailbacks stemming from this.

A police spokesperson said the second incident initially delayed police from getting to the scene, but officers are now in attendance at both incidents.

They are in the process of moving the vehicles off the road while recovery makes its way to the scene.
